role of spirituality in your treatment process. We are committed
to providing spiritual support, honoring
your
traditions and customs, whenever requested. The hospital values
the rich diversity of the human family and makes spiritual
support available to persons associated with all faith
traditions or with no faith tradition.
The spiritual care Experience
You and your family and friends
are encouraged to request spiritual support. Spiritual Care
staff are available to meet with you to provide comfort, support
and encouragement. Ask any member of your nursing team to
contact the Spiritual Care Department or call
extension 4636 from any
in-house phone. At your request, we will be glad to assist
you in contacting your clergy person or spiritual leader.
You may wish to request spiritual
support when:

You are concerned about a
diagnosis or upcoming surgery or medical procedure.

You desire to see or have
access to the ministry of a Pastor, Minister, Priest, Rabbi,
Imam, or other spiritual leader.

You desire to receive prayers
or sacramental rites such as Anointing of the Sick,
Reconciliation, or Holy Communion. (Note:
Roman Catholic Eucharistic Ministers visit the hospital most
weeks to bring Holy Communion to Roman Catholic patients.)
Interfaith Chapel
T he
Hospital's Interfaith Chapel, located on the first floor, is
available for prayer and meditation for persons of all faith
traditions at all times. Reading materials are also available in
the chapel. If you find the chapel locked after hours, please
ask the receptionist to contact security, who will gladly open
the chapel for you. The Spiritual Care office is located in Room
D-381 (3rd floor west). For more information regarding spiritual
