Year-Round Volunteer Opportunities
at
Norwegian American hospital
The Volunteer Services
Program at Norwegian American Hospital allows interested
individuals the opportunity to contribute their skills
to a non-profit organization in their community.
Potential volunteers must
-
make a
commitment to complete a minimum of 60 total hours
within a calendar year;
-
complete all
necessary paperwork including: volunteer
services application, responsibility agreement,
confidentiality statement, and consent form for
applicants under the age of 19 years;
-
successfully
complete an interview,
-
and complete a
physical examination, which includes a drug screening test.
Successful
completion of our volunteer program has many benefits,
including improved communication skills and professional
development, all gained while building experience in an
exciting setting. And because many volunteers are
interested in careers in the health field, becoming a
volunteer at Norwegian American Hospital not only
permits individuals to develop experience working in a
hospital setting, but also allows them to work as a part
of a team.
To learn more, please contact the Norwegian
American Hospital Department of Marketing & Community
Relations at (773) 292-8203. Thank you
for your interest in participating in our
Volunteer Services Program.

Perhaps the first
and biggest benefit people get from volunteering
is the satisfaction of incorporating service
into their lives and making a difference in
their community and country. The intangible
benefits alone—such as pride, satisfaction and
accomplishment—are worthwhile reasons to serve.
In addition, when we share our time and talents,
we: solve problems, strengthen communities,
improve lives, connect to others, transform our
own lives.
